About the film. The Breakup runs 28 seconds. A made-up registrar called “YourRegistrar” buries its “Transfer away from us” button under retention pop-ups — “Wait! Don’t go!”, “Quick call first?”, an eleven-business-day wait for the auth code — until Jack sprints for the exit. It illustrates our transfer-out policy: leaving is self-serve, with no fee and no retention call.
If you ever want to go — go.
Your transfer code (also called the auth code, EPP code or domain password) is self-serve: sign in, open the domain’s Transfer out page and reveal it any time. The film’s end card says it “arrives in five minutes”; in the dashboard it’s there as soon as you ask. No transfer-out fee, no retention call, no “are you sure you’re sure” pop-ups. You own the domain; it goes where you go. More answers are in the FAQ.
Coming the other way? Transfers in are checked with the registry before you fill in anything else. There’s no transfer fee. A .au transfer is free unless it’s within 90 days of expiry, when it includes the renewal ($20 for a year); a .com transfer includes one year’s renewal at the normal price. Every transfer needs the domain password (auth code) from your current provider, including .au domains.
