How to read this page

Every version of the terms is listed below, newest first, with the date it took effect. We keep old versions here because the agreement you gave is the version you saw on the day, not whatever is current.

The terms you agree to are filled in for your own domains at the moment you agree. The copy below is shown filled in for one example domain, example.com.au at AUD 20.00 a year, so you can see the real shape of it. On your own agreement:

  • the domain name is your domain, and the amount is the list price for that extension on the pricing page, including GST, on the day we email you
  • if you turn auto-renew on for several domains at once, the terms name the domains in a list, with each domain’s own yearly amount (the second example below shows that wording)
  • the timing numbers are the ones published here: we email you at least 7 days before a charge, normally about 30 days before expiry, and charge between 14 and 3 days before expiry, normally 14

We never charge more than the amount in the email we send you first. If we change these terms, including the timing, we email you at least 30 days before the change applies and you can turn auto-renew off before then.

Version AR-2026-09-16

In effect from 2 October 2026. Current version.

One domain

Auto-renew terms (version AR-2026-09-16)

By agreeing to these terms, you ask Digital Greenhouse Pty Ltd,
trading as Chill Domains (ABN 92 148 046 799), to renew example.com.au for
1 year each time it is due, and to charge the card saved for
auto-renew on your account for each renewal without asking you to
approve each charge. That is the card you save or choose when you
agree, or a card you later save to replace it.

Before every charge: we email you the exact amount and the charge date
at least 7 days before we charge. That email normally
arrives about 30 days before the expiry date.

When we charge: between 14 and 3 days before the
expiry date, normally 14 days before. If a charge fails, we
try again up to 4 more times inside that window,
and we never charge after it closes.

How much: our list price for the domain's extension when we send that
email, including GST. Today that is AUD 20.00 for 1 year for
example.com.au. We never charge more than the amount in
the email. Promo codes and first-year discounts apply only to the
payment they were used on, never to renewals. The charge shows on
your statement as CHILLDOMAI* AUTORENEW.

Cancelling: turn auto-renew off at any time from your dashboard in one
click. If you turn it off before the charge date, nothing is charged.
You can also reply to any of our emails to ask us to turn it off. If
your request reaches us before the charge date and we charge anyway,
we'll refund that charge in full. You can remove your saved card under
Billing at any time.

After a charge: we renew the domain straight away. If the registry
refuses the renewal, we refund the charge in full. A completed renewal can't be undone at the registry, so please turn auto-renew off before the charge date if you don't want it. This doesn't limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

How long this lasts: until you turn auto-renew off or remove your card.
If we change these terms, including the timing above, we'll email you
at least 30 days before the change applies, and you can turn auto-renew
off before then.

Your card details are held by Stripe, not by us. We keep a record of
this agreement, email you a copy, and email a tax invoice for every
renewal.

Several domains at once

When you turn auto-renew on for more than one domain in a single step, the same terms name the domains in a list and state each domain’s own yearly amount. Everything else is word for word the same.

The wording you agree with

The terms above are the same whichever way you turn auto-renew on. What differs is the sentence next to the tick box or button you use. There are four, and this is all of them, word for word.

Saving a new card from your dashboard

A tick box above the button, which is labelled “Agree and turn on auto-renew”:

I agree to these auto-renew terms and authorise Chill Domains to charge the card I save for future renewals of the domain.

For several domains, the last words are “of these domains”.

Using the card already saved on your account

A sentence directly above the button, naming the card:

By clicking "Agree and turn on auto-renew", you agree to the auto-renew terms above and authorise Chill Domains to charge your saved Visa card ending 4242 for future renewals of the domain.

Your own card’s brand and last four digits appear in place of the example. For several domains, the last words are “of these domains”.

Ticking the box at checkout

The tick box is labelled “Renew automatically with this card”, it is never pre-ticked, and this is the hint under it:

I agree to the auto-renew terms below for example.com.au and authorise Chill Domains to save this card with Stripe and charge it for future renewals. Off unless you tick it. We email you the price at least 7 days before each charge, and you can turn it off any time.

For several domains, “for example.com.au” becomes “for these domains: ” followed by the list. The full terms are on the same page, under “Read the auto-renew terms”.

Replacing the card used for auto-renew

A sentence above the button on the Billing page, which is labelled “Agree and use this card for auto-renew”:

I agree that Chill Domains may charge this card for the auto-renewals described above.

The domains and their prices are in the terms shown directly above the button, so this sentence reads the same whether you have one domain or several.

Turning it off

Turning auto-renew off is one click in your dashboard, and you can do it any time before the charge date. You can also reply to any email from us and ask. Removing your saved card is on the Billing page; once no domain is using auto-renew, the card is removed from Stripe within a day.

How we handle the card and the record of your agreement is set out in our privacy policy.
