The Asterisk — a 28-second Chill Domains ad about fine print, featuring Jack the greyhound asleep on his back.

About the film. The Asterisk runs 28 seconds. A “$0.99*” headline price dissolves into a storm of fine print, the screen goes black, and we cut to Jack asleep on his back. It ends on our whole .com.au pricing sentence: $20 a year, renews at $20, inc GST. It illustrates our pricing promise — renewal is the same list price as the first year. Every extension is on the pricing page.

No asterisks. That’s the whole policy.

A .com.au domain is $20/year inc GST, and it renews at the same list price. New and existing customers pay the same list price, and if a list price ever changes, it changes for everyone at the same time — the reminder email shows the current price before you renew. No promotional first year, no “then-current standard rate” clause.

The one footnote we can’t avoid: some registries charge more for certain premium names. If the name you want is one of them, checkout shows that price before you pay.

The sleeping greyhound is real, by the way. Meet Jack — he signs off on all our pricing by not getting up.

Ready when you are

Bring your domains over, or start a new one.

Pop in a domain you already own and start the transfer in a few minutes. You’ll need its transfer code (auth code) from your current registrar. There’s no transfer fee: a .au transfer is free unless it’s within 90 days of expiry, when it includes the $20 renewal. New domain instead? Search for it and pay by card at checkout.
